Emma Earls

Emma Lou Earls, 88, of Normal, IL passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 at the Sugar Creek Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Normal, IL. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 10:00am at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur with visitation from 4-6:00pm Sunday, December 4, 2016 at the funeral home.Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur, IL.Memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church or the Children’s Department of the Decatur Public Library.Emma was born on October 4, 1928, in Mason City, IL the daughter of Halmon and Mary Pickett. She married Daniel Owen Earls on July 5, 1953 in Glasford, IL and he has preceded her in death.Emma was a faithful member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Decatur for many years and also volunteered for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She was employed by the Decatur School District and Acorn Pharmaceuticals of Decatur. She enjoyed travelling, visiting friends and relatives.Emma is survived by her three children, Cathy Wentworth (Dennis) of Downs, IL, Connie Duh (Louis) Payallup of Washington, IL and Mike Earls (Kristina) of Tulsa, OK. She has 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.Emma was preceded in death by her husband, her brother Gene Pickett, and her parents.The family would like to thank the Staff of Sugar Creek for their care and support.
