Elsie Sattley

It is with great sadness that the family of Elsie May Sattley (Newberry) announces her peaceful passing at home in San Ramon, CA with her family at her side. She passed on February 21 just two days shy of her 87th birthday. Elsie was born in Decatur, IL on February 23, 1932. She graduated from Decatur High School and also attended the University of Illinois. Elsie retired from AT&T after more than 30 years of dedicated service. While there she was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Telephone Pioneers. She was also a lifelong member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, an avid sports spectator, and lover of all things chocolate. She will be sorely missed. Surviving her are her son Bruce (from her marriage to Richard L. Sattley of Decatur) and grandchildren Ethan and Wyatt, all of San Ramon, CA. Preceding her in death were her mother Gladys Newberry (Howard), father Albert Lionel Newberry, brother Jack Newberry, and sister Patricia Coon. A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Inurnment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial donations in the memory of Elsie can be made to the American Cancer Society. "
