Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 2, 2009, at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. There will be no visitation. Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements.Memorials may be made to Fair Havens Christian Home, Inc. Jean was born June 27, 1923, in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, the daughter of Earl and Edith Wallengren Newland. She graduated from Decatur High School. Jean retired after many years as the office manager of George S. Walker Plumbing & Heating, Inc. Surviving are her cousins, Agnes Promisco of Glenview, Illinois; David Rhylander of Collierville, Tennessee, Scott Newland of Mt. Zion, Illinois, Cathy Twist of Ft. Worth, Texas, Robert Newland, Jr. of Orlando, Florida, and Susan Hoskins of San Diego, California.
