Elizabeth "Betty" Schoeneberg, 83, of Decatur, IL, died 1:29 P.M., Monday, March 4, 2013, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 8, 2013, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday, March 7, at the funeral home. Burial will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 11, 2013, at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton, IL. Memorials may be made to: Decatur Corps or Salvation Army. Betty was born December 13, 1929 in Cutler, IL, the daughter of Albert and Lylis (Alexander) McIntyre. She married Walter L. Schoeneberg on October 6, 1945 in Chester, IL. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1980. Betty formerly worked at Hi-Flyer Kite Company, and later at General Electric Company in Decatur, IL. Following General Electric, she more recently operated the New Art Beauty Salon #2 in downtown Decatur, retiring in 2004, and then became a Matron at the Anna B. Millikin Home in Decatur, IL. Betty was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and Illinois Basketall fan, loved doing crochet work and gardening, and was active in the Salvation Army Home League. She is survived by her children: Jim (Joy) Schoenberg, Bill (Brenda) Schoeneberg and Sherry Ann (Ron) Cole, all of Decatur, IL; 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; sister: June (Bill) O'Connell of St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband, and one great granddaughter. "
