Eleanor Rose Pritts

Eleanor R. Pritts, 96, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2026.

Visitation will be 12:30 – 1:30 PM, Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will follow in Marrowbone Township Cemetery in Bethany.

Eleanor was born August 30, 1930 in Lerna, IL, the daughter of Frank Charles and Mabel (Knight) Jackson. She married Jack O. Pritts on August 6, 1950 and he preceded her in death on November 6, 1987. Eleanor attended Illinois State University where she earned her Master’s Degree. She taught Home Economics at Mt. Auburn High School and became a guidance counselor after earning her Master’s. She then was a guidance counselor for 25 years, until her retirement, in Jefferson City, MO. Eleanor enjoyed sewing and cooking and was a member of Central Christian Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Alice Burk of Decatur; son, Jeffrey (Janis) Pritts of Decatur; five grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Keith Pritts; and a brother.
