Eleanor Jo Peters, 85, of Warrensburg passed away Sunday, July 16 at her residence.Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, July 19, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur with visitation from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Illini Congregational Church, Warrensburg.Jo was born January 7, 1932 in Frankfort, IN, the daughter of James A. and Ruth Eugenia (Fouch) Weaver. She married John Peters on September 20, 1953 in Mulberry, IN. She was a librarian at Warrensburg Elementary-Middle School for 25 years. Jo enjoyed horses, dogs, loved and collected lighthouses and had a passion for books. She especially treasured time with her grandkids. She was a member of Illini Congregational Church.She is survived by her husband of 63 years, John; children Greg (Sally) Peters of Gifford, Steve (Lisa) Peters of Warrensburg, Brian (Pam) Peters of Arizona, and Elaine (Lyle) Clark of Warrensburg; grandchildren, John (Brittany), April (Chad), Ryan, Jamie, Taylor, Aly; great grandchildren, Peyton, and Madison; brother, David Weaver of Florida; and sister, Jean Ann (Gene) Hawkins of Indiana.Jo was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Paul Weaver; sisters-in-law, Comanche and Pat; and daughter-in-law Vicki.The family wishes to extend a special thank you to DMH Hospice for the excellent care they provided.“We walk by faith, not by sight”“I am the light of the world.
