Eldred Dickerson

Eldred M. Dickerson, 87, formerly of Decatur, IL, died Sunday, June 3, 2012, in Cape Coral Hospital, Cape Coral, FL. Mass of Resurrection will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, June 9, 2012, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Decatur, IL, with Father Don Wolford, Celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be 1:00 P.M., Monday, June 11, in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, Attn: Memorials & Honor Program, P.O. Eldred was born September 24, 1924, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Clinton and Hazel (Phillips) McKenzie. She married James P. Dickerson on February 9, 1946 in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death. Eldred was former owner of the Rt. 48 Inn. She also worked as a cook at MacArthur High School and Cape Coral Hospital. Eldred was a member of Saint Andrews Catholic Church and former member of Saints James & Patrick Parish. She is survived by her children James Murray Dickerson (Mary Ann) of Decatur, IL, Thomas "Ted" Dickerson (Barbara) of Lawrenceville, GA, Susan Hanzevack (Russell) of Cape Coral, FL; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
