Elaine Metzger

Freda Elaine Metzger, 94, of Macon, IL, passed away 7:45 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2019 in Heritage Health, Mt. Zion, IL. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will be in South Macon Township Cemetery, Macon, IL. Memorials may be made to Macon United Methodist Church or Heritage Health, Mt. Zion. Elaine was born August 14, 1924 in rural Lintner, IL, daughter of Fred and Gladys (Clow) Born. She married Donald Metzger on December 25, 1943, in Cerro Gordo, IL. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2014. Elaine was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed organizing picture albums of all family members. She kept in close contact with family and friends by sending cards and notes in recognition of birthdays, anniversaries, and special events. Elaine is survived by her son, Roger (Janice) Metzger of Macon; daughters, Audry (Jim) Redpath of Morton; Jane (Dennis) Nelson of Chicago; Janice (Gary) Berry of Macon; grandchildren, Scott (Andria) Redpath; Brian (Patty) Redpath; Angela Redpath and Eric Judge; Craig (Andrea) Metzger; Kelly Metzger and Nick Brazel; Jay (Abby) Metzger; Chad (Stephanie) Berry; great-grandchildren, Catherine Redpath, Luke Redpath, Lauren Redpath, Lexi Metzger, Levi Metzger, Jillian Berry; sister, Eileen Barlow; and brother, Duane Born. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Max Born and Dale Born. Elaine’s family would like to give special thanks to everyone at Heritage Health, Mt. Zion, for all their exceptional care and compassion given.
