Elaine L. Dresback, 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior March 18, 2026. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving daughters Brenda and Cheryl.
Elaine was born on November 22, 1932, to Laurence and Loretta Metzger, in Monticello, IL. She was the salutatorian of her 1950 Cerro Gordo High School graduating class. After graduating high school, Elaine graduated from the School of Nursing connected with Samaritan Hospital, Ashland, Ohio.
Elaine was united in marriage to John E. Haas in 1956. Together they had three daughters, Brenda, Rebecca Ann and Cheryl. Tragically, John died in a car accident in 1963 near Ashland, Ohio.
In 1966, Elaine moved her family to Cerro Gordo. She began working as an RN at Shackleford Clinic, where she worked for many years before retiring. On March 28, 1970, she married Bill Dresback, they were married 54 years. The family resided in Cerro Gordo until purchasing the Lenora Snoke farm in La Place, where they lived for 27 years before returning to Cerro Gordo.
Elaine is survived by her daughters, Brenda Baughman and Cheryl (Jeff) Blickensderfer; grandchildren: John Blickensderfer, Andrew (Sydney) Baughman, Lindsay (Callen) Schmalz, Stephanie (Pete) Linehan and Shari (Brian) Mueller; great-grandchildren: Emma, Brooks, Leo, Vivienne, Julie, Ryan, Jack, Luke and Rose; and many precious nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands John Haas and William Dresback, infant daughter Rebecca Ann and brothers Dale, Larry and Terry.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, in Cerro Gordo. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery. Memorials donations may be made to the Cerro Gordo Brethren Church.
