Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M., Friday, August 13, 2010, at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Decatur, IL, with visitation two hours prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery, Decatur, IL.Memorials may be made to Lutheran School Association or St. Johns Lutheran Church General Fund. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements.Edwin was born July 14, 1921 in Decatur, IL, the son of Albert and Gertrude (Reich) Grabowski. He had three younger sisters Helen, Verna, and Florence. Edwin was a lifelong active member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, taught Sunday School and was a Trustee. He married Amy Ruth Payne on October 7, 1949.Edwin was a proud Army Veteran of WWII, having served in the Pacific with the 20th Air Force on Saipan. After the war he became a tool and die maker, working at several companies before retiring from Marvel-Schebler Division of Borg Warner in 1983.Edwin is survived by his son Mark Grabowski and wife Linda of Decatur; four grandchildren Keith (Rebecca) Grabowski, Meridith (Phillip) Roland, Paul Lehman, Jennifer (Gary) McDowell; nine great grandchildren Christopher Jones, Jordan Grabowski, Karly Marinas, Zachary Roland, Paige McDowell, Miaya Lehman, Brianna Grabowski, Joshus Lehman, and Isabella Grabowski.Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, wife Amy, sisters Helen, Verna, and Florence, two nephews and one niece.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com "
