Edward Yundt

Edward Allen Yundt, 66, of Decatur, IL, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at his residence.Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Church, with a visitation from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m., prior to Mass. Inurnment will be at Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur, IL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Decatur/Macon County Humane Society. Ed was born February 29, 1952, in Decatur, IL, the son of Wayne and Cora (Nihiser) Yundt. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and could often be found volunteering at places such as Good Samaritan Inn.Ed earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Millikin University in Decatur and retired from St. Mary’s Hospital as a Registered Nurse after 45 years of dedicated service. He was deeply passionate about providing excellent patient care and was named Nurse of the Year during his career. In his spare time, Ed could be found enjoying a good book, tending to his flower garden or playing with his beloved dogs Mazie and Tillie. He is survived by his daughter Eva (William) Parenti of Acworth, GA; sister Joy (Jerry) Wallace of Clinton, his dearest friend Mary Jordan of Clinton, sister Glory Yundt of Decatur, brother David Yundt of Huntingdon, TN, sister Shirley Cartee of Belton, SC; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents.
