Edward Sample

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 15, 2011, at Brintlinger and Earl Cerro Gordo Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo, IL. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday, April 14, at Brintlinger and Earl Cerro Gordo Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery, Cerro Gordo, IL. Edward was born September 12, 1948, in Plainfield, AR, the son of Lacie and Mardelo (Smith) Sample. He married Marilyn Ziegler in January 1975 in Decatur, IL. She preceded him in death. Edward worked for Chanute Air Force Base in civil service and was a U.S. Army Veteran.He is survived by his children Gregory (Sarah) Laird of Rantoul, IL, Kristi (Alan) Weldon of St. Joseph, IL, Brian Sample of Urbana, IL; grandchildren Nicholas and Brooke; sisters Carrie, Virginia, Vada and Elma.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marilyn and brother Ted.
