Edna Peabody

Edna Francis “Frankie” Peabody, 90, of Taylorville, formerly of Stonington, IL passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Taylorville Estates, Taylorville, IL.Mass of Christian Burial will be 6:00 p.m., Monday, November 23, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Stonington, IL, with visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to service time at the church. Burial will be Tuesday, November 24 in Old Stonington Cemetery, Stonington, IL, with procession to the cemetery leaving at 11:00 a.m. from the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to St. Mary School Capital Campaign or Holy Trinity Church Building Fund. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is handling the arrangements. Edna was born January 30, 1925, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Frank and Edna (Wood) Elshoff. She married Roy J. Peabody on November 20, 1946 in Springfield, IL. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2003. Edna was a former member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Altar & Rosary Society in Stonington, and St. Mary Catholic Church and C.D.A. in Taylorville. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed all the family gatherings through the years. Family was very important to her and she was loved by all and will be greatly missed.She is survived by her children: David (Peggy) Peabody of Aurora, IL, Dean (Pam) Peabody, Mike Peabody, Kevin (Sharon) Peabody, all of Taylorville, Nancy (Joe) Mateer of Stonington, Jeff (Betty) Peabody, Carolyn (Doug) Brown, all of Taylorville; 18 grandchildren & 13 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy, and sister Evelyn Buedel.
