Edna Brown

Edna M. Altevogt Brown, 85 of Boody, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Heartland Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 6, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Edna was born October 28, 1926, in Irving, IL, the daughter of Fred H. and Verna (Root) Altevogt. She married Carl Brown on March 4, 1950, in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1994. Edna enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, her cats, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Surviving are her children Barbara (David) Morthland of Decatur, IL, Brenda (Stephen) Moore of Decatur, IL, and Jeff Brown of Boody, IL; granddaughter Kristy (Wes) Waters and great-grandson Bentley Waters, all of Taylorville, IL; brothers Ernest Altevogt of Litchfield, IL, Homer (Sarah) Altevogt of Decatur, IL; and sister Velma (John) Beck of Carlinville, IL. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl, and brother Robert Altevogt. "
