Edith was born Sept. 30, 1911 in Decatur, IL to William and Harriet (Burton) Custin. Edith began working at the Eldorado St Garment Factory at the age of 16 and remained for 10 years and developed her love and skill for sewing clothes. Edith made quilts, crocheted blankets and did needlepoint to keep her hands and mind busy when her body wanted to slow down. She married Reverend Archie Albright on Oct. 17, 1934, in Springfield, IL. She was his constant companion in marriage and service of the Lord until his death in 2005. Edith spent her adult life devoted to God and devoted to family, but she was more than just a Pastor's wife and homemaker. Edith was a true Christian who prayed diligently for family and friends and those in need. She believed in the power of prayer and the healing power and love of Jesus Christ. In her daily devotions, Edith prayed for the Salvation of those she loved most to one day join her in Heaven. Edith is survived by daughters Karen (Carl) Mitchell of White Heath, IL and Susan (Robert) Wear of Argenta, IL., eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers and sisters, her husband, daughter, Mary E. Cordray and grandson Michael Cordray. The Family would like to thank DMH Hospice and the nurses on the 5th floor of DMH for their care of Edith in her last days. The family of Edith Albright is being served by Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home "
