Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home are handling the arrangements.Earl was born on March 3, 1924, in Joliet, IL., the son of Simeon Frey and Bertha (Lennon) Frey. He married Rita Eileen Padden on October 29, 1944. She passed away on May 29, 1995.He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Earl retired in1986 after 34 years service as a welding tech. at Caterpillar Tractor Co. Earl attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God, was a life member the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was a hospice volunteer at Decatur Memorial Hospital for several years and drove the van for veterans to Danville V.A. Hospital. Earl was also a bingo caller for many years. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing pool and was a Cub fan.He is survived by his three children: Bruce Frey and wife Nancy of Decatur, IL., Eileen Rita Ide and husband Laurence of Dixon, IL., and Brent Frey and wife Dorothy of Clinton, Ohio; dear friend and companion: Beverly McGuire of Decatur, IL. ; four grandchildren: Lora Finn and husband Eric of Clinton, Ohio, Amanda Gause and husband Dan of Canton, Ohio, Scott Ide and David Ide both of Dixon, IL.; two great-grandsons: Brady Finn and Blake Gause.; two sisters: Ruth Downey and husband David of Joliet, IL. and Carol Morris and husband Tom of Florida.Earl is preceded in death by his parents, infant son, granddaughter Frances Ide, and three brothers: Roland, Donald, and Clarence. "
