February 27, 1926 — October 12, 2010

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 16, 2010, at Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church, with visitation 4 to 7 P.M., Friday, October 15, at the church. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery. The family requests casual attire. Memorials may be made to Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church or Friendship Hill Retirement Center. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo will be handling the arrangements.Lorene was born February 27, 1926 in Moweaqua, IL to Rubin and Ethel (Jacobs) Zindel. She attended school in Moweaqua, Springfield, and Stephen Decatur High School. Lorene met Leonard Morr roller skating at Ragsdale Roller Rink. They married June 9, 1945 while Leonard was on a 3 day Navy furlough. They were married 51 years when Leonard died September 13, 1996.Lorene worked at Millikin Bank, Decatur Macon County Hospital, State Bank of Cerro Gordo, and was a farm wife. She was such an active member of the Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church, Leonard joked that the church doors couldnt open without Lorene. She served the Lord as Sunday School Superintendent for many years, Sunday School teacher, member of United Methodist Women, Methodist Quilters, and served on numerous committees throughout her life. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Lorene enjoyed playing Mexican Train and working puzzles with Ginger Gisinger.Lorene is survived by her daughters Juli Hamilton of Cerro Gordo and Gina Ritchie (Dave) of Casner; son Dan Morr (Tuana) of Humboldt; grandchildren Nathan Hamilton (Heidi) of Dothan, AL, Kyle Hamilton of Palm Harbor, FL, Heather Houser (Chris) of Monticello, IL, Jeremy Gentry of Cerro Gordo, Tia Crowder (Derek) of OFallon, IL, Justin Morr (Courtney) of OFallon, IL; step grandchildren Chris Wallace (Amanda) of Dorans, IL, Stacy Enlow (Aaron) of Lerna, IL; 14 great grandchildren; along with much loved in-laws, nieces and nephews too numerous to list.Lorene will be reunited in Heaven with her parents, her brother Robert Zindel and her husband Leonard, and infant sister Winifred. The family would like to thank the employees of Friendship Hill Retirement Center for providing a loving community.Love of the Lord, Love of family, Love of friends was Lorenes life. As she would say Lifes short, eat dessert first. "
