E. Crabtree

Edward Crabtree, Jr., 81, of Decatur, IL, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at St. Mary’s Hospital. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 17 at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, August 16, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maroa Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Macon Resources. Edward was born April 22, 1938, in Danville, IL, son of E. Edward Sr. and Mabel (Pyle) Crabtree. He married Margaret Baldwin on February 3, 1958 and she preceded him in death January 1, 1966. He later married Charlotte Parker on April 18, 1970. Edward was a truck driver for 40 years, the last 15 years driving for ABF Trucking in Springfield. He was one of the original founders of Teamsters Local 149 in Decatur, and later was a member of Local 916 in Springfield. He was also a member of the Trades & Labor Union where he was awarded for his service. Surviving is his wife Charlotte of Decatur; daughter: Carrie Marley of Taylorville, IL; son: Jeff Crabtree and wife Julie of Maroa, IL; step children: Greg Parker of Decatur; Brent Parker and wife Lisa of Florence, AZ, and Renea Parker of Decatur; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sister: Catherine Innes and husband Robert of Howell, MI; and brother: John Crabtree and wife Susie of Indian Land, SC. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Margaret, step daughter Deborah Parker, and infant son Edward Corbin. "
