Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday (11-04-2009) at Berea Christian Church, rural Mt. Auburn, IL.. Visitation will be held on Tuesday (11-03-2009) from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be at Berea Cemetery, rural Mt. Auburn, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. are handling the arrangements.Memorials may be made to: Berea Christian Church, rural Mt. Auburn, IL.Dwain was born on February 27, 1920 in rural Mt. Auburn, IL., the son of Otis Furstenberg and Olga Mae (Herman) Furstenberg. He married Ellen Frances Durflinger on February 27, 1941 in St. Charles, MO.Dwain retired from a lifetime of farming and was a member and elder of Berea Christian Church. He also enjoyed woodworking. Dwain was a Supervisor for Mosquito Township for twenty four years, and a school bus driver for Niantic-Harristown School District. He was a member as well as an officer of ATA, and was a board member of the ASC office.He is survived by his wife Ellen of Rural Route Mt. Auburn, IL.; son: Joseph M. Joe Furstenberg and wife Pamela K. of Illiopolis, IL.; daughter: Alice I. Woodrum and husband Terry of rural Decatur, IL.; sister Gloria Hornbaker of Decatur, IL.; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. "
