Dudley C. Brown, 96, of Decatur, passed away on July 21, 2025.
Visitation will be 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM, Monday, July 28, 2025 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Funeral service will be 12:00 PM, Monday, at the funeral home. Burial with military honors by the US Army and Macon County Honor Guard will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Memorials in Dudley’s honor may be made to Northwest Christian Church.
Dudley was born July 9, 1932 in Kempton, IL the son of F. Clifford and Della (Heavisides) Brown. He married Marilyn Stone on June 11, 1955. They celebrated almost 70 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on October 10, 2024. Dudley proudly served our country in the US Army. Following his service, he began a career at Caterpillar where he retired as a machinist and planner after over 30 years. Dudley also enjoyed wood carving and was a member of Northwest Christian Church.
Surviving are his children: Stephen Brown of Farmer City, Denise (John) Goodwin of Boody, and Daniel (Tina) Brown of Bloomington; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Dudley was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
