Douglas W. Daily, 79, of Cerro Gordo, IL, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
Graveside services will be held at 2 pm. Friday, May 29, 2026, at Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, are assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorials may be given to Eberhardt Village, 431 W. Palmer St., Arthur, IL 61911.
Doug was born January 3, 1947, in Dalton City, IL, the son of Clyde and Louise (Nofrey) Daily. He married Twilla R. Simmons on July 3, 1966, in LaPlace, IL, and she preceded him in death on November 6, 2014.
Doug had worked as a millwright at Staley’s for 30 years and retired from Millwright’s Local # 1051. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and he liked to fish.
Surviving are his 2 sons Duane (wife Cindy) Daily of Decatur, and Brent (wife Pam) Daily of Cerro Gordo, IL; 8 grandchildren, Hannah Daily, Hallie Daily, Emily Knotts, Travis Knotts, Kadelyn (husband Tyler) Walker, Peyton Daily, (Jazzi Hicks), and Courtney Daily-Spencer; 1 great-granddaughter Brynnlee Daily; a brother Ronnie Daily of Arthur, IL; and a sister Loretta Edgecombe of Casner, IL.
Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother Larry Daily.
