Edward "Doug" Imboden, 62, of Decatur, IL., passed away at 6:20 P.M. on Friday (05-04-2012). A service to celebrate Doug's life will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday (05-10-2012) at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Pickens officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday (05-09-2012) at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home are handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to: Decatur Public Library Historical Dept or the Decatur Civil War Round Table. Doug was born on January 30, 1950 in Decatur, IL., the son of Edward P. Imboden and Dorothy (Grabb)Imboden. He received his Associates Degree in Law Enforcement from Danville Community College and worked as a Security Guard at various businesses; and also volunteered at the Decatur Public Library in the Shilling Local History Room. Doug was a member of First United Methodist Church, the local Ham Radio Club and the Decatur Civil War Round Table. He was a an avid local and Civil War history buff and also enjoyed fishing, reading, gardening, and his dogs. Doug is survived by his sister: Jill (Imboden) Sobottka and husband Frank of Eagle River, Alaska and cousins, Larry Grabb, Ron Grabb, Jeff Breitman,Jerald Breitman, Jeannine (Breitman) Keltner, Janice (Breitman) Pickens and John Imboden and long time friend Jim Foran. He was preceded in death by his parents. "
