Dossie Pruitt

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 7, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, IL.Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association.Dossie was born July 18, 1926, in Gamaliel, KY, the daughter of Homer E. and Sarah C. (Bray) Taylor. She married Virgil Witt Pruitt on August 25, 1943, in Tompkinsville, KY. He preceded her in death on November 13, 1979.Dossie attended Parkway Church of the Nazarene. She retired from the housekeeping department at St. Marys Hospital in1993 after 15 years of service.Surviving are her son Jerry V. (Ruth) Pruitt of Argenta, IL; daughters Cathy M. Barry (Rick Suhl) of Decatur, IL, Helen J. (Ernie) Lofland of Decatur, IL, Pat (George Jr.) Matherly of Decatur, IL; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; and brother Myrl Taylor of Decatur, IL.Dossie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Paul, and one great-great grandson.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at DMH 4100 and McKinley Court for their loving care given to Dossie.
