She was Dottie to her fellow workers at General Electric and York Division where she was employed for many years. In her retirement she was always busy sewing, knitting, quilting or making something for someone she loved or knew. One of her favorite things to do was to recover antique lamp shades, at which she became quite skilled and productive. She was loyal Cardinal baseball fan who loved to watch them with her critical replay. Dorothy was a good friend, a caring and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.There will be no funeral or graveside service as she wished, however a memorial service celebrating Dorothys life will be held at Victorian Woods on Saturday, February 26th from 1 to 4 PM for all who knew Dorothy or her family to come and share the company and conversation.The family would like to thank the nursing staff at St. Marys Hospital and St. Johns Home Health and Hospice Services for all of the loving care given to Dorothy over the past seven weeks. Also a special thanks to the staff at Victorian Woods for their assistance and to the faculty and staff at Eisenhower High School for their generosity and support at this time.Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is assisting the family with arrangements.
