Dorothy Vermilyea, 91, of Decatur, died Wednesday, August 29, 2012, in Decatur. Private graveside services will be at Macon Cemetery, Macon, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Mrs. Vermilyea was born May 15, 1921, in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Peter and Catherine Wasilow. She married Robert Vermilyea on May 7, 1943 in Bloomington, IL. He preceded her in death March 3, 1992. Mrs. Vermilyea's family was her life. She is survived by her son Gary Vermilyea and wife Susan of Decatur; daughter Eileen Buis and husband James of Dallas, TX; brother Stephen Wasilow, sister Margie Calcagni, sister Anna Mazziota, all of Allentown, PA; grandchildren Justin Vermilyea, Joshua Buis and wife Lara, and Jordan Buis and wife Jamie; great grandchildren Jackson Buis, Kate Buis, Caroline Buis, and Brooks Buis; niece Sylvia Wolfe. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and three sisters. "
