Dorothy Raney

Dorothy Dawn Raney, 94 of Decatur, IL passed away on June 21, 2014 at Fair Havens Christian Home in Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27 at 10:00am at the First Church of the Nazarene, Decatur, IL. The visitation will be from 6-8pm on Thursday, June 26 at the church and an hour before service time. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene. Dorothy was born in Decatur, IL on Jan. 9, 1920 the daughter of Frank and Nettie Sarah (Dugan) Brackett. She married J. L. Raney on Nov. 24, 1948 in Decatur and he has preceded her in death. Dorothy was the owner and operator of Dog-N-Suds and Raney's Townhouse. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Surviving are two daughters; Nancy Jo (Paul) Nisbet of North Manchester, IN and Sarah Jane (Waller) Lourash of Decatur, IL. Seven grandchildren; Richard P. (Jill) Nisbet of Monticello, IL, Dorothy (Dean) Kitzmiller of Decatur, IL, William (Len) Lourash and wife Judy of Decatur, IL, Daniel P. Nisbet of North Manchester, IN, Jeffrey L. (Tabitha) Lourash of Warrensburg, IL, Melissa Jo (Steve) Brown of Warrensburg, IL, and Timothy M. (Nealy) Lourash of Brooking, OR. Also surviving are 18 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers, and 8 sisters. "
