Dorothy Lenore Pugh, 83, Warrensburg, Ill., died Sunday, Sept. 20, at Fair Havens Nursing Home, Decatur. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 30, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 29, at the funeral home, with Eastern Star services at 8 p.m., by Illini Chapter #813. Burial will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 30, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Danville, IL. She was born Nov. 5, 1931, in Shelbyville, IL to Forrest and Irene (Smith) Roe. The family later moved to Decatur, where she attended Decatur High School, before graduating from Ft. Worth High School, Ft. Worth, Texas. She married Jack Alan Pugh, Feb. 13, 1951, in Decatur. He precedes her in death. She was an employee of the U. S. Army Signal Depot, Decatur, and later worked for Kemper Insurance, the Illinois Power Company, and the United State Census. She retired from the United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics. She was a licensed private pilot, with time at the controls of a Douglas DC-3 passenger plane. A volunteer at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, she earned her 7,000-hour pin, and knitted over 700 tiny stocking caps for newborns to wear home.She was also active in the Christ Care Stitchers, the Linus project, the Warrensburg United Methodist Church, and the Illini Chapter of Eastern Star #813. She is survived by her brother, Jack (Linda) Roe, Virginia Beach, Va.; two sons, David (Michelle),Archbold, Oh., and Jack Edwin (Jackie), of Warrensburg; two granddaughters, Caitlin, Quincy, Mass., and Lauren, Shiloh, Ill.; step granddaughter Andrea (McGinnis) Hamm, Cerro Gordo; step grandson, Dustin McGinnis. Special AFS Daughter Dr Marisa Barbero of Spain. The family requests Memorials to the Warrensburg Fire Department, or the Warrensburg United Methodist Church.
