Dorothy Jean "Jeannie" Pruett, age 79, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026.
Born on March 30, 1947, to the late Elmer Garren and Mary Irene Creed, Jeannie lived a life filled with dedication, simple pleasures, and deep love for her family. She spent 19 impactful years working in Administration for Bulkmatic Transport, splitting her time and career between the Decatur, Illinois, and Decatur, Alabama offices.
Outside of work, Jeannie knew how to enjoy the finer, simpler moments of life. She was an avid thrifter who loved the thrill of finding a hidden treasure. She also found joy in listening to music and relaxing with an occasional glass of wine. Above all, her favorite times were those spent sharing laughs and creating memories with her daughter, Michelle.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son, Lonnie Dean Dickson Jr., who passed away in 2019; and her three brothers, Ricky, Norman, and Dan Garren.
Her legacy of love lives on through her surviving family. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Dunmyer of Cowden, Illinois; her brother, Randy Garren of Taylorville, Illinois; and her cherished grandchildren, Natasha Lee, Heather Lee, Robert E. Lee III, and Cameron Spracklen. She is also survived by her precious great-grandchildren, Hailey Rebecca, Michael Dean, and Tristan Lee.
