CUSTOM DEATH NOTICEDorothy D. Smitty (Smith) Moore, 88, of Decatur, passed away at 6:20 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2008, at McKinley Court Nursing Home. She had previously resided at Tanglewood Village, Decatur, IL.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to Elks Lodge #401, V.F.W. Post 99, or American Cancer Society.Dorothy was born on July 24, 1920, in Hammond, IL, the daughter of Frank P. and Ora (Hampton) Smith. She married Edward Lewis Moore on October 11, 1963, in Decatur. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1996.Dorothy previously worked at Osgoods, and was a secretary for William Oakes Machinery and the Elks Club. She was a member of the Elks Lodge #401 and the V.F.W. Post 99. Dorothy was an avid Cardinals fan.Surviving are her step daughters Karen St. John and husband Bob of Mattoon, Il, Ruth Albin and husband Richard of Decatur, IL, Janice Collins and husband Larry of Herrick, IL, Rebecca Becky Markell and husband Rick of Danville, IL; 8 Step Grandchildren; 9 Step Great Grandchildren; sister-in-law Jewell Smith of Decatur, IL; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, brothers Frank, Glen, Dale, sisters Leatha, Celestia, Gladys, and Marie.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com "
