Dorothy Mikels

Dorothy Alice Mikels, 84, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2012 in Austin, Texas. Dorothy, a native of Decatur, Illinois was born September 7, 1927. She was the daughter of Luella and Earl Stocks. She married Jack Mikels on September 8, 1948 at Grace United Methodist Church. Dorothy worked for many years as a mortgage closer and retired from Magna Mortgage in the 1990s. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a member of the M&M Sunday school class. Dorothy was preceded in her death by her husband, Jack Mikels, her parents, her sister Barbara, and brother Fred. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Mikels; granddaughter, Rochelle Carlin and her husband René; great-granddaughters Penelope Carlin and Nina Carlin, all of Austin, TX. She is also survived by her brother Clarence Stocks of Morton, IL and sister, Beverly Mathews of Decatur. We will all miss her and her quick wit dearly. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 25 from 6-8 PM at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 26 at 10AM. Interment will follow at Cerro Gordo Cemetery, Cerro Gordo, IL. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church. "
