Dorothy Louise Lawton, 87, of Decatur, IL, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018, in Rio Grande Regional Hospital, McAllen, TX.Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 12, 2018, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, visitation 3 to 5 p.m., with Eastern Star services at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 11, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Following services, there will be a reception at Macon Masonic Lodge #8. The family requests casual attire.Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children or Eastern Star Home in Macon.Dorothy was born October 28, 1930, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Carl Chester and Doris Anna (Beall) Rager. She married Sidney Lee Lawton and he preceded her in death on February 1, 2003.Dorothy was a member of the Eastern Star Illini Chapter #813. She was a secretary for McKinley Terrace and TV Tom’s. Dorothy enjoyed bowling at The Bowl, watching her pool teams, playing cards, and watching performances at Little Theatre on the Square.She is survived by her daughter Carol Lawton; son-in-law Mike Gilstrap; grandchildren Elizabeth Swarthout, Christine Howell (Kyt), William Cleary (Kelsey); great grandchildren Sean Hackl, Hayden Catherine Cleary, all of Decatur, IL; and several nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Sidney, daughter Catherine.
