Dorothy M. Janvrin

Dorothy M. “Dot” Janvrin, 81, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 9 am to 11 am, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, 2827 N. Oakland Ave., Decatur with graveside funeral service to follow at 11:30 am at Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials in Dot’s honor may be made to Macon County Honor Guard, 889 W. Dot was born on January 9, 1945 in Hammond, IN , the daughter of John and Evelyn (Wheeler) Morey. She married Gary Janvrin on June 26, 1965 in Decatur.

She worked at the same office for nearly 50 years starting as a dental assistant for Dr. L.L. Grissom. During her time with Wayne Grissom she transformed her role doing all aspects of office administration for the dental practice, ending her career with Ronald Brownfield. She was a member of Boiling Springs Church of God, a former member of Lakeview Church of God. She enjoyed baking cakes, tending to her flowers, plants and throughout the years she attended many family gatherings and sporting events.

Dot is survived by her husband Gary Janvrin of Decatur; her daughter Annette (husband David) Zaske of Decatur; her granddaughter Kylie Zaske of Decatur; and her sister Betty “B.J.” Wade of Decatur

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother John W. “Butch” Morey, Jr.; and a sister Ethel (Morey) Crouch.
