Dorothy Brabender

Dorothy M. Brabender, 75, of Mt. Zion, died Tuesday, July 30, 2019, in her home. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 6, at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 5-8 P.M. Monday, August 5, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church. Dorothy was born July 20, 1944, in Decatur, the daughter of Carl and Lucille (Vest) Sperl. She married Thomas William Brabender November 6, 1965. He preceded her in death November 2, 2015. Dorothy retired from A.E. Staley and Custom Tool in Decatur. She was an avid shopper and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She is survived by her son, Andrew Brabender and wife Marcie of Goshen, IN; daughter, Mindy Humphrey and husband Larry of Decatur; grandchildren, Brooke, Emma, Meghan, Beau, Kate, and Luke; brother, George Hays of Decatur. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, and son, Jason Brabender. "
