Dorothy L. Beachey, 81, of Decatur, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at her home. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 26, at Grace United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, April 25, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church or Good Samaritan Inn, which can be forwarded in care of Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, 2827 N. Oakland Ave., Decatur, IL 62526. Mrs. Beachey was born September 2, 1930, the daughter of William T. and Elva M. (Miller) Phillips. She married Lewis J. Beachey June 27, 1948, in Charleston, Illinois. Dorothy and her husband Lewis owned and operated Grand and Oakland Easy Cleaning Center, as well as Pines Laundromat. She enjoyed wintering in Harlingen, TX for 17 years, where she was an elementary school mentor and an avid square dancer. Mrs. Beachey was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Ladies of the Moose Chapter 36. She is survived by her husband Lewis of Decatur; daughter Linda J. Schultz and husband John of Forsyth, IL; daughter Beverly J. Tevebaugh of Maryville, IL; sister Lola Wright and husband Marvin of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Jeremy Tevebaugh, Jonathan Schultz, Andrea Barthelemy, and Kathryn Tevebaugh; great grandchildren Jessica and Lauren Tevebaugh and Cole and Lincoln Schultz. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Thelma Stewart, brother Harold Phillips, and son-in-law Patrick Tevebaugh. Mrs. Beachey's greatest joy was being with her family and friends. She gave her family unconditional love and was a great role model for all. "
