Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 24, 2009, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.Doris was born April 26, 1930, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Walter and Myrtle (Peel) White. She married Gerald White on June 29, 1950 in Decatur, IL.Doris was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a wonderful artist, painting beautiful oil paintings and enjoyed making crafts. Doris was a volunteer at Aspen Ridge and the YWCA and was a member of the Decatur Womens Club.She is survived by her brother Thomas (Bernadine) White of Decatur, IL; sister-in-law Donna White of Decatur, IL; nieces Cheryl (Nick) Larry of Decatur, IL, Barbara (Joe) Briscoe of Oakley, IL; several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gerald, brother Jim, sister Martha, nephew Timmy, stepfather Homer Walton.The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Fair Havens Christian Home for their loving care.
