Doris Smith, 89, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025 surrounded by her family.
Graveside service will be 12:00 PM, Monday, March 10, 2025 at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur is assisting the family.
Doris was born April 17, 1935 in Decatur, the daughter of Carson Clio and Gladys Ethel (Creek) Jackson. She married Darrell Smith on June 10, 1956 in Decatur. He preceded her in death on April 26, 2024. Doris worked for Hi-Flier Kites and several other local businesses. She enjoyed gardening, going to thrift stores and her dogs. She was an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church
Surviving are her daughter, Dawn (Richard) Ryan of Decatur; son, Darren (Jennifer) Smith of Charles Town, WV; grandchildren: D’Andra, Tiffany, Carson, Cooper, Elizabeth, Dustin, Duncan, Delaney, Daniel, Dane, and Dory; step-grandchildren: Jill, Julie, Cathleen, Christine and Terry; great-grandchildren: Evelyn, Douglas, Ezra, Olivia, Waylon, Elianna, Landon, and Ellie; step-great-grandchildren: Caiden, Austin, Madison, Isabella, Lola, Greyson, Weston, and Brooklyn; and sister, Marilyn Bentz of Cincinnati, OH.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Darrell; sons, Douglas and Daniel Smith; brother, Lorne Jackson and sister, Jean Roderick.
