Doreen Jacobs

Doreen Lynn Henderson Jacobs RN; 68, formerly of Decatur, IL died Monday, November 14, 2016, in Orlando, FL after a quick battle with pancreatic cancer. She had recently moved to Oviedo, FL to be closer with her son’s family. She was born on December 17, 1947, in Memphis, TN to Emery ”Spud” and Dorothy (Grant) Henderson. She was preceded by her Parents and grandparents.Doreen is survived by her son, Jason M. Foreman (wife Lindsey) of Oviedo, FL; one grandson, Oliver; two sisters, Karen Heiser (husband Rick) of Decatur, IL and Sharon Dondeville (husband Howard) of Eagle, Idaho; one niece, Jennifer Simmons (husband Jason) of Decatur, IL; three nephews, Mike Heckwine (wife Danielle) of Mt Zion, IL, T.J. Carver of Dalton City, IL and Brandon Dondeville of Vancouver, WA; and several great nieces and nephews.On April 1, 2016, Doreen retired from her professional passion of Psychiatric and Intensive Care nursing. During her 38 years of nursing service she worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, Decatur Memorial Hospital, St. John’s Hospital and most recently the Andrew McFarland Mental Health Center both of Springfield, IL. Doreen had a huge heart and loved her family very much. Her world revolved around her grandson, nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.Following Doreen’s wishes Cremation rites have been accorded. Her memorial visitation will be held Saturday, December 3, 2016, from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes 2827 N. Oakland Ave. Decatur, IL. Inurnment of Doreen’s ashes will follow at the Mt. Zion “Block” Church Cemetery at the corner of Hazel Dell Rd. and County Rd. 1900 E.
