Donna June Maguet, age 86, passed away September 14, 2016 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.As per her request, no services will be held. Memorials may be made to Homeward Bound or Dove, Inc., Decatur, IL. Donna was born on May 17, 1930 in Atwood, Illinois to Laura Jean Wilkins. She graduated from Atwood Township High School in 1946. She moved to Decatur, Il in 1951. Donna was employed by Borg Warner as machine operator from 1952 to 1971.She worked at The Bowl as counter controller with promotional duties and atHeritage Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Center as residential specialist.Donna was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School for 7 years and was a ruling elder. She served as president of the PTA for Dennis Elementary School. Donna is survived by three children; Kathleen Ellingson, Randy Tapscott (Carolyn), Donna Marie Maguet, eight grandchildren; Dara Ashby (Ralph),Devin Ellingson, Colin Ellingson, Eric Ellingson (Amy Niles), Keely Eisenhauer, Scott Ellingson, Paul Tapscott (Kara), Sarah Tapscott, five great grandchildren; Sarah Ashby, Haley Ashby, Aiden Eisenhauer, Rylee Eisenhauer, Lillian Tapscott.Donna was legally blind for more than five years and battled with lung cancer for the past two years. She will be buried in Atwood Memorial Cemetery next to her grandmother. Donna appreciated all of her friends and relatives who assisted her over the past several years providing transportation, assistance with maintenance on her house and her yard, and were generous with moral support and good conversation. She enjoyed her flower gardens, bird watching and her various pets. She was always an example of someone who could endure adversity while maintaining a good sense of humor. Her courage over the past year while dealing with lung cancer and the knowledge of its resulting death was a source of strength for all who were close to her. She maintained a positive attitude until the very end and was grateful for all the pleasant memories that her friends and family provided for her over her lifetime. "
