Donald K. Wade, 80, of Decatur, IL, passed away 5:00 a.m., Monday, June 13, 2016, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, June 17, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or DMH Hospice.Donald was born August 2, 1935, in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Orrie and Nita (Ruff) Wade. He married Carol Robinson on June 28, 1959 and she preceded him in death on January 13, 2014. .Donald was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and served on the Building Committee and as Vice President on the Church Council. He retired from Illinois Power after 40 years of service. Donald was a Boy Scout Leader, member of Stephen Decatur Booster Club, Stephen Decatur Lodge #979 AF & AM, IBEW #1306, where he served on the Executive Board.He is survived by his children Annette (Gary) Jobe of Maryville, IL, Richard Wade of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Matthew Jobe and Sara (Kyle) Ingram, all of Decatur; great grandchildren Landon & Logan Jobe; sisters Leta Bruckner of Shelbyville, Velma Lawson of Springfield; brother John Wade of Shelbyville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol, and three sisters.The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kairouz and staff at Cancer Care, DMH ICU and Floor 5100 for their wonderful care and compassion given to Donald.
