Donald R. Smith, 88, of Warrensburg, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur is assisting the family.
Donald was born August 27, 1936 in Decatur, the son of Raymond and Dorothea (Botts) Smith. He married Dorthy “Dot” Sichling on May 3, 1958 in Decatur. Donald was a manager for PC Limited in Blue Mound for over 20 years. He enjoyed fishing and restoring classic cars. Some of his most notable were a Ford Model T and 1956 Ford pickup.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Dorthy “Dot”; children: Jeff (Tammy) Smith of Fenton, MO and Linda (Bill) Goretzke of Simpsonville, SC; grandchildren: Nick (Ashton) Goretzke, Katelyn (David) Kent, Rachel Smith and Jason Smith; great-grandchildren: Amelia and Hudson; and siblings: Janet (Bob) Fulk of Hoschton, GA and Morris Smith of Cumming, GA.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Richard Smith and Roger D. Smith.
