Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Monday, May 9, 2011, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 5 to 7 P.M., Sunday, May 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity or Forsyth United Methodist Church.Donald was born June 27, 1926, in Decatur, IL, the son of Earl and Genevieve (Blackshaw) McQuality. He married Ora Leota McQuality on November 17, 1946, in Decatur, IL. She preceded him in death in November 2006.Donald was a shipping clerk for Mueller Company, retiring after 42 years of service in December 1988. He was a volunteer at the Mueller Museum, Habitat for Humanity and in disaster relief missions. Donald served as Republican Precinct Committeeman for 40 years and a Hickory Point Township Trustee for 20 years. He was a member of the Warrensburg United Methodist Church, where he served as a board member and sang in the choir. Donald was a U.S. Navy veteran and enjoyed woodworking.He is survived by his daughter Marcia McQuality of Decatur, IL; son Rodney (Dixie) McQuality of Sherman, IL; grandchildren Matthew (Kelsey) McQuality of N. Ridgeville, OH, Cara McQuality of Sherman, IL; great grandson Landon McQuality of N. Ridgeville, OH; sister Marilyn (Larry) Whitehurst of Decatur, IL.He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Leota.The family wants to especially thank God for His loving care of Don, and Dr. John Newlin, DMH ICU South Unit, and the 5100 nursing staff for their special care and gentle services during this time.
