Donald Ervin Kuenzel, 76, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 4:25 a.m. Sunday, November 30, 2014, in his home. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 5, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, December 4, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, and also one hour prior to services on Friday, at the church. Memorials may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Donald was born June 15, 1938, in St. Louis, MO, the son of Ervin C. And Alice (Olsen) Kuenzel. He married Merrilee Quitzow in St. Louis. Donald was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. He served his country with the Air National Guard. He was a wood patternmaker and a member of the Commodore Bridge Club. He enjoyed sports, especially tennis, golf, softball, bicycling, and also enjoyed flying model air planes. Surviving are his son Michael (Jennifer) Kuenzel of Charleroi, PA, and their children David and Anna; son Todd Kuenzel, Sr. of Decatur, IL, and his children Tia, Katelyn (Anthony) Lawrence, and Todd, Jr. Also surviving are his brother David (Judith) Kuenzel of St. Louis, MO; sister Lois (Michael) Stewart of St. Louis, MO; and was an uncle, great-uncle and cousin. Donald was preceded in death by his parents. "
