Donald E. Knackmuhs, 73, of Decatur, died at 7:31 PM, Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, January 12, 2011 from 4 - 7 PM at the funeral home. Burial will at Graceland Cemetery.Memorials: Northwest Christian Church or Little Galilee Christian Camp.Donald was born September 3, 1937 in Decatur, IL, the son of Virgil and Wanda L. (Wantland) Knackmuhs. On May 3, 1959 in Decatur, IL, he married Donna J. Mayberry. He worked as a loader for Caterpillar Tractor Company for 37 years, retiring in 1997 and later worked at Sattleys for 10 years.Donald has won many trophies and awards for drag racing and car shows. He was a member of the Pontiac Club, Local 751, and Northwest Christian Church.Donald is survived by his wife Donna, three children Rodney D. Knackmuhs and wife, Paula of Decatur, IL, Robin Neff and husband, Larry of Decatur, Todd E. Knackmuhs and wife, Lisa of Decatur; brother Gerald A. Knackmuhs and wife Lavina of Latham; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren.Donald was preceded in death by his parents. "
