Donald Eugene Hoff, 78, of Kenney, IL, died at 10:42 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Fair Havens Christian Home, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney, IL. The family requests casual attire. Memorials may be made to: Wounded Warriors Project. Donald was born on May 16, 1936, in Kenney, IL, the son of Eugene and Laverne (Brelsford) Hoff. He married Betty Burns on September 8, 1957, in Kenney, IL. She preceded him in death on October 9, 2006. Donald was a career U.S. Marine Corps veteran, retiring as a Gunnery Sergeant. After his service, Donald farmed in Kenney, IL area for many years. Along with his wife Betty, they enjoyed wood crafting and attended many craft shows in the area. Donald enjoyed all types of fishing, from streams and lakes to deep sea fishing. Surviving are his children: Debra (Mike) McInerney of Decatur, IL; Brian E. (Laura) Hoff and wife Lori of Lima, OH; grandchildren: Amanda McInerney of Decatur, Jason (Heather) Hoff of Reading, PA, Stephanie (Brad) Farman of Sunfield, MI; five great-grandchildren; and sister Barbara Krutchevski of Rio Rancho, N.M. Donald was preceded in death by his parents and wife Betty. "
