Donald Dean Garner, 77, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 7:38 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at his residence, with his family by his side. Memorial visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. There will be no services; cremation rites to be accorded. Memorials may be made to donor's charity of choice. Donald was born on July 4th, 1935, in Decatur, the son of Benjamin and Erma Garner. He married Beverly Logan on July 2, 1960, in Decatur. Donald was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from Caterpillar in 1998. Donald enjoyed riding and raising horses, camping and fishing, collecting carnival glass, and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sport activities. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Beverly of Decatur; children Christy (Lindell) Williams of Decatur, IL, Steve (Vicki) Garner of Argenta, IL, Jennifer (Carlos) Maldonado of Decatur, IL, and Jodi Friesner of Moweaqua, IL; grandchildren Shannon, Kari, Zachary, Joe, Amanda, Gail, Christopher, Taylor, Logan, Carlos, Jacob, Jessica, Maddi, and Mason; great-grandchildren Maddie and Jacob; sister Marsha Stofer of Effingham, IL; and special nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, brother Harold "Bill" and sister Barb. "
