Dolores Ann Holderness, 91, of Decatur, IL, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, September 23, 2024 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dolores’s honor may be made to: First Evangelical Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society, Humane Society of Central Illinois, or Memorial Hospice.

Dolores was born February 13,1933 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Walter and Ruth (Denz) Dipper. She married Homer “Jack” Holderness on September 2, 1951 in Decatur. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1997.

Dolores was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. She loved collecting antiques, playing bridge, and spent her life making a happy home for her family.

Dolores is survived by her daughter Debra Holderness Newman (Larry), brother Don Dipper (Charlotte), nieces Carol and Susan, and grand-dog Sophie aka “Precious”.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; and daughter Cheryl Holderness-Wise.
