Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, August 24, 2009 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with visitation from 5 - 7 PM Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Burial will at Graceland Cemetery Decatur, IL.Memorials may be made to: Macon Resources (Special Olympics) and Calvary Baptist Church.Dixie was born on February 26, 1921 in Clinton, IL., the daughter of Leonard D. Brooks and Edith (Mcilvenna) Brooks. She married Jack W. Gensler on February 2, 1945 in Tuscola, IL. He preceded her in death.Dixie was a licensed Beautician from 1945 - 2008 in her home. She was also a caseworker for Macon Resources from 1970 until she retired in 1992. Dixie was a member of AFSME Union, and a member of First United Methodist Church.She is survived by three sons Steve (wife, Debbie) Gensler, Tom (wife, Bev) Gensler, John (wife, Gina) Gensler; grandchildren, Shelly, Steve (wife, Jennifer) , Jason (wife, Bonnie) / Jason (wife, Melissa), Zach / April (husband, Dave), Tommy (wife, Lisa), Tia / Shae, Shannon, Jamie (Nick) and Jodi / great grandchildren, CJ / Drew (wife Andi), Adam / Max, Kolsten, Tye / Megan Rose, J.J. , Addison, Macy, Jaxon / Dawson, Olivia, baby Gensler on the way / Jacob, Jordan, Madison, Skyler, Kaylin, Aubrie, Cole, and Carlie.Dixie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jack.The family would like to give a special thanks to Leslie Stout at McKinley Court and would also give thanks to Dr. Tim Miller and his nurse Brenda and to DMH Hospice for all they did.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com "
