Diane Louise Rushing, of Decatur, IL, passed away in her residence at 8:50 AM, March 21, 2025, and went to her eternal home with Jesus.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL. Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, also at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. A procession to Long Point Cemetery in Niantic, IL, will follow the service. Memorials may be made in Diane’s honor to Appaloosa Horse Club to support the Appaloosa Youth Association (2720 W. Pullmon Rd, Moscow, ID, 83843) and Ruby’s Rescue Retreat (4035 County Rd 600 N, McLean, IL, 61754).
Diane was born January 24, 1953, in Peoria, IL, the daughter of Dean Klingaman and Ruth Klingaman Pace. On August 23, 1970, she married her MacArthur High School sweetheart and love of her life Rick Rushing. They were married for 54 years.
Diane began her marriage as a homemaker, and then mother. Later, she worked at H&R Block as a tax preparer for nearly 15 years. In 1990 she began an outstanding 35-year real estate career, focusing on finding the perfect home for her clients. She began her career at Jim Masey Realtors and finished it at Glenda Williamson Realty.
Diane’s passion and love was working with her husband Rick to support the Appaloosa horse breed. She served as both the President and Board Member for the Appaloosa Horse Club between 1984 – 2020, and then later served on the board of the Appaloosa Youth Foundation. Together they promoted the Appaloosa horse traveling the world.
Surviving is her husband, Rick; daughter Katrina (Frank) Hubbard of Forsyth, IL; grand girls Anna Reeser of Forsyth, IL, Madeleine (Avigdor) Schultz of New York, NY, Jillian Hubbard of Dallas, TX, Emilia Hubbard of Forsyth, IL; great-grand girls Emma and Kennedy; stepmother Donna Klingaman of Mesa, AZ; and stepsisters Terri (Dave) Enzman of Apache Junction, AZ, and Tammie McWilliams of Apache Junction, AZ.
Preceding Diane in death is her son Derrick Rushing, her parents, and her sister Denise Jones.
