Dewayne Heidemann

Dewayne (Dewey) Heidemann, 67, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 2:25 P.M. on Sunday (03-29-2020) at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts of America. Dewayne was born on October 30, 1952 in Decatur, IL. the son of Arthur Frederick Herman Heidemann and Ella Anna Backhus. He married Marsha A. Shepard on December 20, 2014 in Decatur, IL. Dewayne worked at A.E. Staley’s for 20 years. He worked at Schuerman Lock and Key and then was owner/operator of Decatur Lock and Key. Dewayne was an avid volunteer in the Boy Scouts of America. He was also a member of the Associated Locksmiths of America. Dewayne was a Snoopy fan, loved comic books, and into building model railroads. He is survived by his wife Marsha of Decatur, 2 sons: Andrew A. Heidemann of Decatur, IL, and Scott A. Heidemann and wife Brittany of Peoria, IL, 2 stepsons: Matthew Osborn and wife Angie of Shelbyville, IL, and Brian Osborn and wife Kimberly of Decatur, IL,; 2 sisters: Jenette Heidemann of Decatur, IL, and Ellen Hill of Algonquin, IL, one brother Al Heidemann of Aurora, IL, 5 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Dewayne is preceded in death by his parents. "
