Dennis L. Culp, 67, of Decatur, IL, peacefully passed away at 4:54 A.M., Sunday, April 11, 2010, at his residence, surrounded by his family.Memorial visitation will be 4 to 8 P.M., Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with a short prayer service at 4:00 P.M. The family requests casual attire, Nascar or Harley shirts and ride your bike if possible. Memorials may be made to St. Patricks Catholic School Sports Program.Dennis was born January 29, 1943 in Decatur, IL, the son of Leaton H. and Bernita B. Bonnie (Bafford) Culp. He married Anita L. Hart on July 11, 1964 in Decatur, IL. He later married Carol A. Cumming on January 6, 2006 in Decatur, IL. Dennis was a fork truck mechanic for several years. He was a member of the Wednesday Meeting of the Minds. Dennis was in the Army National Guard in the late 60's. He enjoyed Nascar racing, Harley Davidsons, Basketball, watching his grandchildren play ball, and loved his grandkids very much.He is survived by his wife Carol of Decatur, IL; children Kevin L. Tomlinson and wife Donna of Gilroy, CA, Chris A. Culp and wife Genia of Warrensburg, IL, Suzette M. Mankel of San Diego, CA, Lynette R. Hunt and husband Charlie of Peoria, IL; stepchildren Louis Alvey of Decatur, IL, Katherine Shunk and husband Seth of Villa Grove, IL; mother Bonnie Lancaster of Friendswood, TX; grandchildren Jacob and Zachary Culp, Rachel and Jack Tomlinson, Gabriel and Carson Hunt, Madeline, Erin, and Tucker Shunk; brothers Don Culp and wife Sherry of Fort Madison, IA, Mick Culp and wife Kathryn of Friendswood, TX, Gary Culp and wife Donna of Moweaqua, IL; sister Carol Sue Josserand of Destin, FL; best bud Chico Smith of Decatur, IL.He was preceded in death by his father.The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Esparaz and his staff at DMH Cancer Care Center and DMH Hospice. They would also like to thank Bill Little for his compassion and flexibility, giving Dennis the time when he needed it. "
